Hong Kong lawmaker extended an invitation to Coinbase and various other cryptocurrency exchanges to establish their operations in the region.
Johnny Ng, a member of the Legislative Council, voiced his support and willingness to assist “all global virtual asset trading operators,” including Coinbase, via a tweet. He also hinted at potential opportunities for stock listings. This move follows the recent lawsuits by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against major industry players such as Binance and Coinbase.
I hereby offer an invitation to welcome all global virtual asset trading operators including @coinbase to come to HK for application of official trading platforms and further development plans. Please feel free to approach me and I am happy to provide any assistance. pic.twitter.com/bcIi1IjMlc
